An 8-year Old Triumphs Over Adversity!
A few weeks ago, this talented 8-year old decided to audition to sing a solo at the Kravis Center with the Young Singers of the Palm Beaches.
We worked on his solo for about 3 sessions and during the third session I videotaped him so he could work on relaxed stillness.
The following Tuesday his dad cancelled his lesson abruptly as Oliver wasn't feeling well. The next morning he had an emergency appendectomy, and missed his solo audition.
Fortunately, we had the video, and Dad submitted it in lieu of an in-person audition. Oliver was called back to sing for the artistic director today, a week and a half after his surgery, and had two more sessions with me, one in person and one remotely.
Today was his final audition and.....He GOT IT! He was chosen from eight finalists - what an inspiration!
